Central Union
If you and your pooch are looking for a great dog-friendly place to stay when visiting Union, you will want to check out the Hood Canal Bungalow. This rental has a fantastic view of the Lake Union, and who doesn't want to wake up with a lake view in the morning? You will have access to the entire house during your stay. It can accommodate up to 5 people along with your canine friends! Your pup will love walking around the edge of the lake with you; they will just need to be on their leash. This will be a paw-tastic place for you and your pup to stay during your time in Union!

NE Roessel
If you and your pooch are looking to get some exercise in, you've come to the right neighborhood! It's located just 17 miles northeast of Union, and the short drive here is well worth it. The Pacific North West Salmon Center has quite a few acres that are dog-friendly. The Farm at Water’s Edge Walking Trail is a great place to walk with your leashed dog, too. The trail is open Monday-Friday form 8am to 5pm. There are plenty of trees for shade, but the trail can be a little uneven in places. There are also grassy areas where you are allowed to walk your pooch, too. Your pup will love exploring all the sights and sounds this trail has to offer! Be sure to bring water with you in case either of you get thirsty. Grab your pup’s leash and come on out for a fun-filled day!

NF Hoodsport
This pawesome neighborhood is located in a very scenic area just 11 miles from Union, and is home to Mount Ellinor. This is another great hike for you and your pooch. This 5-mile hike in the Olympic National Forest will take about 6 hours to complete. You don't have to be in great shape if you do not want to complete the hike, but if you do, you'll need to be at the top of your game! Be sure to come prepared for the challenge. If you plan to hike the entire trail, it's best to wait until mid-July; the trail can be a little hard to navigate on the way down, and you may lose your footing if you visit during the winter. You will also want to bring plenty of water for you and your pooch. Are you up for the challenge? Then pack up all your essentials and take the short drive to Mount Ellinor for an un-fur-gettable adventure!

Turner
This dog-friendly neighborhood is located 15 miles outside of Union, and has a great place for your pup to enjoy a day of play. The Shelton Off-Leash Dog Area at Kneeland Park is a fenced-in park with plenty of room for your pooch to run around. There are separate areas for different sized dogs, but the entire dog park covers approximately half an acre. Your pooch will love the soft grass under their paws, and you'll love the benches and shade trees available here for your convenience. The park also offers water bowls, but you will need to bring your own doggie waste bags for cleanup.
Northwest Olympia
This neighborhood is a dog’s paradise! The Evergreen State College Trails is a fun place for you and your pooch. Your pup will love exploring the forest areas and sniffing around the trails. If your pup likes water, there is also a beach here that welcomes dogs! Be sure to pack a couple of towels if you plan to let your pal take a dip. The Pudget Sound Beach is a great place for your canine friend to cool off and make a splash. You will want to bring some water for you and your pal to drink, though. There are also benches throughout for owners to sit on and watch their pup play. Put on your walking shoes, grab Fido's leash, and and come out for a day of fun!
