I am a recent graduate of UCSD in Marine Biology. I love animals on land and in the ocean. I have one dog in San Diego named Sunshine and I have 3 dogs back home in Washington state with my mom. I have had dogs since I was very young and have always had a strong connection to them. As a young adult I started volunteering to help a local rescue, rehabilitate dogs that had been abandon, neglected or not wanted any longer. I have experience with many types of dog behavior from very happy and excited to very shy and reserved. I have also had the opportunity to help with training of K9 search and rescue when I am home in Washington State.

Hey! My name is Darien and I am an animal and outdoor enthusiast. I recently graduated from college I travel a lot, teaching kids, working on farms and creating art. Animals have always been a part of my life, whether it is wild animals, livestock or pets I have always felt it easy to communicate with them. All the animals companions I've ever had, have been rescued, though I have never owned a dog, my friends dogs have become just as important in my life as their owners are!

South Westport is a beachy area, and there is a lot to explore with your dog. Your pooch will have a blast frolicking in the sand and getting some exercise while you take in the views, and one of the best spots in South Westport to do this is at Twin Harbors State Park. This massive park features beach and coastal areas along with the benefits of the forest that make state parks so unique. You can fish, go diving and clamming, or just relax at the beach or walk along the Pacific coastline with your dog, as long as they are on a leash.
Southwest Westport features miles and miles of gorgeous Pacific coast shoreline, and there are several beaches in this area you won't want to miss out on. One of these beaches is known as Westport Beach, and it's also referred to as South Beach. Luckily, your dog is welcome to join you on- or off leash at this 18-mile stretch of beach so you can spend some precious time outdoors together. This beach is also a prime spot for whale watching, fishing, swimming, surfing, and even bird watching. You and Fido won't want to leave Westport Beach once you get a taste of it!
North Westport is a particularly natural area of Westport with state parks, beaches, and endless trails and places for you to explore and for Fido to sniff his way along. North Westport is home to Westport Trail and Beach, and the 2.5-mile paved trail here is a prime location for dog walking. On the eastern side of north Westport, you will also find the Westport Marina. This large marina is a classic nautical area with great fishing, surfing, and even a museum. The Westport Marina is the largest coastal marina in the Pacific Northwest, and there is also a viewing tower at the marina for you to take it all in.
Whether you are visiting Westport or live there year-round, you can't miss out on taking a trip to northwest Westport and the Westport Light State Park. This 626-acre park also has 1,215 feet of shoreline to walk along, and your dog is welcome to join you on this walk when they are on a leash. You can walk through tall dune grasses and along the sandy shore, and you'll likely come across other dog walkers and even some people on horseback. You might also catch a glimpse of the lighthouse through some of the stunning, tall trees surrounding the area.
Just a 12-minute drive from Westport gets you to Grayland, Washington. Here, you'll find the Grayland Beach State Park which is a 412-acre park perfect for visiting with both your two-legged and your four-legged family members. There is also 7,449 feet of shoreline in this park and your dog is welcome to experience it with you when they're on a leash. You will likely find many other dog owners and families who have come to this area to camp, fly kites, or surf. There are also several hiking trails within the park so if you're looking for something a little more rustic than the beach, this park has you covered!
