Introduction
Active Dog Names in Pop Culture
At first, Josh was too shy to try out for the school's basketball team and would often play alone on a court in town. After seeing that Buddy can play ball, it encouraged him to try out for the team. After making the team, Buddy becomes the team mascot, and eventually, they both become stars! Buddy shows the crowd his skills at the halftime show, and quickly becomes famous, drawing the attention of the media. Drama ensues as the dog's first owner decides to try to make a profit and get Buddy back now that he is famous.
A Portuguese Podengo steals the hearts of many in Soccer Dog: The Movie (1999). A father, Alden, really wants a son of his own to play soccer with, but the boy they adopt, Clay, just isn't interested. Clay then gets a stray dog, named Lincoln and finds that this dog is amazing at soccer. Clay does decide to play the game and finds that it is up to him and Lincoln to win the Pee Wee soccer championship. It is a heartwarming movie about family relationships and the bond between a boy and his dog.
Another movie with an active dog is Balto (1995). Balto is a Siberian Husky mix (half wolf and half husky) who finds out that there is an outbreak of the dreadful disease known as diphtheria in 1925. This disease puts a threat upon the children of the town of Nome, Alaska. Balto knows he must lead a large dog sled team over 600 miles to find and get medical supplies before it is too late. The Alaskan Wilderness presents many obstacles, but Balto is determined to help the children.
This movie is based a bit on the famous Iditarod race that occurs in Alaska, which is a famous dog sledding race of over 1000 miles, from Anchorage, Alaska to Nome, Alaska. The driver of the dogsled, known as the musher, is responsible for tending to his pack by feeding them and taking care of them. This race takes place every March and draws onlookers from around the world.
Active Dog Name Considerations
There are so many activities dogs find joy in doing, such as soccer, hiking, walking, agility, and more, and with those pastimes come many names, such as Kicker, Rocky, Prancer, and Gracie. If your dog enjoys any type of play, you may consider Dash or Juniper.
Deciding on a name for your active dog can be easy if you think of the activities your little romper enjoys the most. If your dog is an all-around dog who just has a super personality, you may consider naming your new companion after their demeanor, choosing tags such as Whispy, Shyla, Ruckus, or Baby. After all, it is up to you, and whichever name you choose will be perfect for your new family member!
