Bedtime Stories Inspired Dog Names

Skeeter is the name of a hapless hotel maintenance man. Unmarried and living in one of the hotel rooms, Skeeter is the son of the original owner of the hotel. In fact, Skeeter was slated to inherit the hotel, but when the hotel is sold to a corporation, the manager decides to give the hotel to his daughter Violet's up and coming boyfriend and businessman, Kendall. Skeeter learns that the stories he tells the children at night are magical in that they will somehow come true in his life. In the end, Skeeter does end up with the hotel, although he does learn a lesson when weaving these dreams that will come true. For instance, Skeeter learns that he must stop Kendall from getting ownership of the hotel as Kendall plans to demolish the local school in order to build a new hotel facility. Saving his niece and nephew, who were trapped in the school, as well as saving the building from demolition, wins Skeeter the girl and the hotel management position. 

Normally, if your furry friend is mid-play and suddenly falls fast asleep, you will likely get them to the vet as quickly as possible. Imagine that this has happened to you, but your dog turns out to have absolutely no health problems. In fact, your vet diagnoses the dog with an extremely rare canine condition (although it is present in humans as well), narcolepsy. Yes, it is very, very rare, but narcolepsy can be present in dogs. The affected dog in this tale is named Skeeter. Skeeter is an eleven pound miniature Poodle. His pet parents noticed that he was continually participating in activity, then suddenly appearing to pass out. With their veterinarian's assistance, the pair realized that they had a narcoleptic pup on their hands. Skeeter remains a very healthy dog, even with his narcolepsy. 

Another dog named Skeeter has overcome a great deal of adversity in her life. A native of New Orleans, Skeeter is a dog adopted after Hurricane Rita (which affected Texas more than NOLA; however, many animals ended up in other states after the storm). She was also in her owner's car when the car was stolen from the owner at gunpoint. Skeeter was found eleven days after the theft, safe and sound. Her story is a testament to happy endings.
