Introduction
Dog Names Meaning Broad in Pop Culture
Sometimes, stories of animal abuse and crime can sicken the soul. Even in this sorry, sad situation, there is a bright light of hope shining through to bring the injured one to a miraculous recovery and life beyond the hurt. Such is the case with our pop culture spotlight, Thor.
First, before we get into Thor’s story, let me be clear - we have not included the details of this story as they aren’t the focus of why the story is here, the purpose to be revealed later in the tale. Thor is a Boxer-Bulldog mix who was injured, with his rear legs paralyzed, and left to die in the streets of a town in Mexico. An “angel” in the form of a female passer-by, saw him and took a picture of him. She sent the photo to a local animal rescue organization who immediately stepped in the see what they could do to help.
The animal rescue organization took Thor into their facility and looked into his eyes - eyes that begged not to euthanize him as many doctors recommended. There was hope in those big brown eyes, and that hope went clear to the tips of his rear toenails and of his tail! The faith in him burned brightly and was infectious, the driving force behind the miracle that took over four years to experience. The rescue team worked diligently, utilizing all sorts of really cool technology as they put him through what they lovingly called “Thorapy.”
While Thor is still traveling down his miracle road, he is walking today when many thought it impossible. The question (and yes, the purpose of this story) is this: what hardship, trial or difficult circumstance are you facing now? Consider Thor’s battle and the hope he never lost and keep hoping for that light at the end of the tunnel, and let him be your inspiration.
