Dog Names Meaning Precious

Precious pups are everywhere in pop culture, and some even bear names meaning precious. Recently, one of the most well-known dogs in pop culture to have a precious name is Bo, the family dog of the former First Family, the Obamas.  The name Bo has Chinese origins and means precious.  Typically, this name as it's spelled if used for females but Bo Obama is a Portuguese Water Spaniel male.  Bo first made his appearance to the world as the First Dog of the First Family in 2009.  His name, while precious in its own right, is a namesake of the famous Rhythm and Blues musician, Bo Diddley.  Bo was named by President Obama's two daughters, Malia and Sasha in part as a namesake to Bo Diddley and also in honor of their grandfather, Michelle Obama's father whose nickname was Diddley as well.  Bo, along with his companion, Sunny, has left the limelight with the end of President Obama's administration. However, Bo will always be a part of U.S. presidential pop culture history. 

Another famous dog with a precious name is the internet sensation, Boo.  Dog owners cannot use much more precious a name as Boo without naming their dog Precious, and Boo the dog fits the bill perfectly.  Boo is a Pomeranian who is dubbed the "World's Cutest Dog."  He was born March 16, 2006, and first made his appearance on the social media site Facebook in May of 2009.  As a Pomeranian, Boo's hair is fluffy and stands on ends like a little lion.  However, Boo's human keeps his hair cut short because it gives this pooch the appearance of an adorable little teddy bear.  Boo currently lives in San Fransisco with his best friends, Buddy and Sir Blueberry Pie, Blue for short.  This little dog has a big personality and a large following on social media sites, Facebook and Instagram.  With over 17 million followers catching up on Boo's daily activities, this little Pomeranian has more fame than most human celebrities.  The precious celebrity Pomeranian dresses in all the latest fashions and offers his fans merchandise as well including plush toys, ornaments, calendars, and book.  Even if people do not know Boo by name, they are familiar with the precious pooch's looks.
