Introduction

"E.T. - phone home!" The lovable alien entered homes in the 1980s via a Stephen Spielberg film. E.T. tells the tale of an alien who is left behind when he and his colleagues are surprised by humans. Elliot is a young boy who, along with E.T., is the protagonist of the film. Elliot has other siblings, Michael and Gertie, but, as the middle child, Elliot often feels left out. He dresses E.T. in women's clothing, and he keeps the extraterrestrial in the closet in an effort to fool his mother regarding E.T.'s presence.
