Introduction
Lilo and Stitch Dog Names in Pop Culture
Although the character of Bubbles is an antagonist in the Lilo and Stitch movie, one real-life Bubbles brings smiles to the people who come to visit the Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina. Bubbles isn't a pup, but her best friend, Bella, is. In fact, Bubbles is an African elephant. Bella is a Labrador Retriever. The pair are both at home together at the Myrtle Beach Safari, and they can often been seen playing together in the water or just generally goofing around. Bubbles will often grab a ball with her trunk and toss it to her friend Bella. Other times, Bella will be found on the back of her friend, anticipating the throw of the ball. Bella will often leap from her high spot and swim to retrieve the ball. While no one can be sure exactly how the pair became such good friends, we do know that Bella was left at the park by the man who built Bubbles' swimming pool. Perhaps it is the tragic beginning that each animal experienced which makes them so close. Bubbles was brought to the Safari as an young elephant; her parents had been killed by poachers and other elephants suffering a fate similar to that of Bubbles' had been killed because facilities willing to take them in were not available. Regardless of how their friendship was formed, Bubbles and Bella are inspiring to all who meet them and enjoy watching their precious - and highly unlikely - friendship.
Lilo and Stitch Dog Name Considerations
The corded hair of the Puli is often compared to dreadlocks. Looks can truly be deceiving when it comes to the Puli; he is actually a very agile dog despite the appearance of having a heavy coat. By contrast, the Mexican Hairless dog, also known as the Xoloitzcuintli, is said to resemble a bat due to its long ears and sleek head. The Bedlington Terrier might look more like a young sheep, particularly if its handlers groom them in the traditional style (a Bedlington Terrier groomed for the show ring very closely resembles a lamb; even the texture of their hair is like that of a sheep). However, the oddest looking pup has a coat that resembles felt. The Bergamasco has fur that, when it mats, literally looks like the felt that can be purchased at the craft store!
Each of the aforementioned pups has a physical characteristic which makes them stand out in the dog world. This makes them more than well-suited for a Lilo and Stitch-inspired name!
