Mystery Dog Names

Scooby Doo is an animated cartoon dog - a Great Dane no less - who along with his four teenage human friends get into a series of mystery solving antics. The series began in 1969, and there are still reruns of the classic cartoon being run today on television. Scooby Doo and his close friend Norville Rogers, otherwise known as Shaggy, were usually reluctant heroes and always tried to sneak away and hide in scary situations. Scooby Doo seemed to bumble his way about and usually ended up helping to solve the mystery, much to his surprise. The team of five (Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, Fred and Scooby Doo) get into all sorts of mysteries: dealing with ghosts, ghouls, hidden treasure and more. Shaggy was just about as cowardly as Scooby Doo, and they both loved their food. When they were separated you would hear Shaggy call out, "Scooby Doo - where are you?" This phrase became a regular part of the show. The artist took liberties with the form of Scooby Doo - his legs were a bit bowed, he had a sloping back and possessed a double chin. But the thing is here, is that he was a loveable dog with a crazy voice and entertained many with his cowardly heroic acts. This cartoon must be one of the most memorable series today and is still appealing to the younger (and not so young) generation. While Scooby Doo may not be your choice for your dog’s name, he is still one heck of a dog.

Another dog within the Pop Culture genre is an animated dog called Mystery, who is the mascot of the Mystery Skulls Paranormal Team. While not much history is known about this strange white dog with the cool red and spiky black mane on his head, he has proven himself to be loyal and attentive - much like Scooby Doo. He is owned by a girl called Vivi, who seems to be totally unaware that Mystery has another form, that of a fox! By now you may be wondering what Mystery Skulls is? Well, they are an American indie pop/electronica act by Luis Dubuc that originated in Dallas Texas, but now operates out of Los Angeles, California. Several videos have been created for the Mystery Skulls songs by their fans. It was in October 2017 when an animated video of a group of characters very similar to the plot line of Scooby Doo appeared, and they travelled about and encountered various paranormal situations which they had to work together to solve the mystery. Their dog Mystery demonstrates all the loyalty and courage that a 'normal' dog possesses and seems to be a modern version of the Scooby Doo that we all know and love.
