Introduction

Most of us wanted to be mermaids after we watched The Little Mermaid for the first time. It is a classic story that Disney took from Hans Christian Andersen and made it age-appropriate. None of us would have wanted to trade our legs for tails after hearing the original. But after watching Ariel trade her tail for legs in the Disney movie, it made us agree with Sebastian- "Life is better under the sea!" None of us could really understand Ariel's obsession with human objects, but then again, most of us collected shells and dreamed of living in Triton's underwater empire.

The Little Mermaid Dog Name Considerations

As mentioned before, we all loved Ariel's antics. And as with most Disney films, we were treated to a few sequels and even a spin-off animated series. Although these were not as good as the original, they were still brilliant and made us feel part of the underwater world again. We got to follow Ariel's adventures as a princess and queen on land and more of her life after her marriage to Prince Eric. We met her daughter and defeated new and old villains alike. The Little Mermaid franchise is one that is cemented into most of our childhood memories.

The franchise has no shortage of inspirational characters, there are all sorts of sea creatures, humans, animals and mostly mermaids and mermen who all are worthy of a mention. There is no doubt that you have your own favorite since they are such wonderful characters. The names we chose for this naming guide are taken from all the works surrounding The Little Mermaid. This includes the original fairytale, the musicals and of course the Disney franchise. Your new dog will be swimming along with the best of them thanks to their new name. Any of them would make Ariel herself proud.
