The main character from the beginning in Sapkowski’s books, then the video games, and finally the Netflix series, Geralt is the brave slayer of monsters and rescuer of damsels in distress. While he keeps it well-hidden, he has a soft spot for the vulnerable in his world and, like some dogs for whom the name would fit well, he doesn’t automatically crave affection and physical contact for his self-worth. Geralt can be independent, aloof, and mysterious, and he bites when he must.

Geralt is a mutt of sorts, being a mutant bred for his monster-hunting destiny. Like many pups with a past, he comes with baggage that he mostly keeps under control. He isn’t liked by everyone but is revered and feared by many. A hunter, he stays focused and determined until the danger is vanquished.
