Introduction
When talking about some of the funniest comedy movies of the 21st century, the film White Chicks is almost always included in the list. Who could forget the funny punch lines and that iconic scene featuring Terry Crews’ character Latrell and the Vanessa Carlton song A Thousand Miles? The 2004 comedy film has stood the test of time and remains to be a classic feel-good movie even years after it was first released. The film also solidified the status of the Wayans brothers as some of the funniest comedians of all time. Below are some of the top names inspired by the memorable White Chicks comedy film.
White Chicks Inspired Dog Names in Pop Culture
The film White Chicks helped launch a lot of careers and created memorable movie characters that remain popular in present day. Even the punch lines that were mentioned in the movie are still being used in everyday conversations. One of these memorable characters is actually one that you probably did not expect – Baby the dog.
White Chicks is the story of two FBI agents, Kevin and Marcus, who are in hot water after an attempted drug bust goes wrong. Posing as Cuban businessmen, the duo tries to arrest the wrong men, who were actually ice cream suppliers. Letting the real drug dealers get away, the two are apprehended by FBI Chief Elliott Gordon and are initially kept from a mission involving a kidnapping threat of the billionaire heiresses, Brittany and Tiffany Wilson.
During a meeting discussing the mission, Chief Gordon gives Marcus and Kevin a chance to redeem themselves by having them bring the Wilson sisters to the Hamptons for the Labor Day Weekend. At the airport, the Wilson sisters are picked up by the agents. This is where Baby the Pomeranian is first seen, housed in a luxurious dog bag. Soon, the two agents find out how overbearing and ignorant the Wilson sisters are. Wanting to get the “babysitting” over with, the agents and Wilsons (with Baby riding in the passenger seat) start their trip to the Hamptons. However, they get into a minor car accident when Kevin tries to save Baby, who jumped off the car window. Distracted, Kevin crashes the car on a nearby tree.
While generally unharmed, the sisters get small wounds on their nose and lip and they overreact. Despite all the attempts of the two to convince the sisters to go the Hamptons, the sisters hold their ground and threaten to report to the agents’ supervisors. Kevin tricks the sisters to stay in the hotel while he and Marcus decide to pretend to be the Wilson sisters. With the help of some make-up and prosthetic artists, the two agents are turned into two white chicks resembling the Wilson sisters.
This is where all the craziness ensues; the fake Wilson sisters meet all the real sisters’ friends while trying to figure out all who is behind the kidnapping. Throughout the movie, they also have some funny antics and get into a lot of trouble. Baby can also be seen in several scenes, including the date between Latrell and Tiffany’s date (where Baby barks at Latrell for trying to touch Tiffany) and at the bar, where the girls go out for some drinks dancing and Russ is seen kissing Baby. The movie ends with the two agents figuring out the real culprit behind the kidnapping threat and making friends with the girls, with a promise to “go shopping”.
White Chicks Inspired Dog Name Considerations
Acquiring a new dog comes with a ton of responsibilities, the first of which is to choose a new name for your new pooch. In general, dog experts advise pet owners to choose a name that is short, preferably one that has only a maximum of two syllables. This is because dogs are equipped to recall only the first two syllables of a given word. Hence, a name that has anything beyond two syllables might not be easily remembered by your dog. If the name you choose does exceed two syllables, have a prepared shortened version or a nickname which you can use when you are calling or commanding your dog.
Fans of the comedy film White Chicks may want to choose a name based on various characters,
places or memorable names from the film. To choose from the numerous names inspired
by the movie, you can look at your dog’s qualities and compare it to the attributes
exhibited by the film characters. For instance, if you have a quirky and funny dog,
you can choose a name after any one of two main characters, Marcus or Kevin (Copeland).
Or if you have a Pomeranian, you can choose the name “Baby”, which also happens
to be the name of the pampered Pom owned by the Wilson sisters in the film.
