It's estimated that there are more than 50,000 dogs in Aurora, Colorado so you know there have to be plenty of great things to do in town. In fact, you can find dog-friendly hiking, parks, restaurants, hotels, and much more. If you are interested in hiking you can check out Sand Creek Greenway, which has 14 miles of linked trails along the High Line Canal and the South Platte River. On the trail, you will see plenty of wildlife, mountains, and there are also several nature centers with picnic areas, restrooms, and historical information available. Keep an eye out for black bears, mountain lions, deer, hawks, and even a black-footed ferret or two.

If you would rather watch Fido play, try Grandview Dog Park on East Quincy Avenue. Grandview has about six acres of fenced area to play in with separate areas for small and large dogs, an agility course, two ponds, doggy bags, benches, and drinking water. The people there are really nice and it is always fun to meet new dogs and dog lovers.

When you get hungry, check out Chipotle Mexican Grill on South Buckley Road where you can make your own burritos or tacos. They offer about twenty different meats, beans, vegetables, and rice as well as different kinds of sauce to top them with. If your furbaby does not like Mexican food you can just get him a bowl of steak or chicken. Then you can rest at one of the dog-friendly hotels, such as La Quinta Inn, Aloft, or Quality Inn. Enjoy your stay in Aurora.
