Take your pup out on the Colorado Mines Peak Trail if you're looking for a smaller hike to do with your pup. The hike is 3.8-miles long with a 1,138-foot elevation gain, in an out and back route. While hiking, your dog needs to be kept on leash, and you may want to consider using snowshoes on the hike since it is often covered in snow. When you and Fido reach the peak, you be rewarded with a great view of the Berthoud Pass and the valley below. Make sure to bring plenty of water on the hike with you.
