The village of Macedon is located in the southwest corner of Wayne County in New York, scenically located at lock number 30 of the Erie Canal. Macedon is considered a true “Canal Town”, and received the Heritage Reward of Excellence from the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. Macedon also takes pride in its trails and parks throughout the town and along the canal. These natural areas, combined with the two veterinary clinics, make it a breeze to have a happy, healthy dog in Macedon!

To get the full canal experience, you and your pooch can take a walk along the Erie Canal Heritage Trail. This 100 mile trail is part of the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy Organization, converting retired railroads into beautiful pathways all can enjoy, two-legged and four-legged friends alike. This crushed rock trail winds alongside the canal and through wooded areas. Leashed dogs are welcome to join in on the fun! There is a trash can near the lock, so don’t forget the doggy waste bags!
