Dog Areas in Pinehurst

The city of Pinehurst, in the northwestern section of Idaho, is considered a small, but charming rural city. Formerly settled for its silver mining industry in the 1880’s, this city is known today for its world-renowned location where visitors can still search for gem-quality garnets. And you can rest assured that Fido will be well taken care of at the local Silver Valley Veterinary Clinic, if the need arises.

Although the city’s West Shoshone Park does not allow dogs, you and your fur-ever friend can head to the Coeur d’Alene National Forest, just north of Pinehurst, with its 1,135 square miles of outdoor adventure. Check out the St. Joe River area of this national forest to take your pup on a fishing adventure along the river where Fido can keep cool while splashing in the water. Or there are miles of hiking trails throughout this area which feature off-leash fun for dogs of all fitness levels. Try the Lookout Mountain Trail which lies atop the mountain range and runs fairly level after a very gradual ascent.

So, pack a bag and head to Pinehurst for some quality outdoor time with your pawtastic friend!
