If you drive a mere thirteen miles from your home to the gorgeous city of Galveston, which is located on a beautiful Texan island, you’ll have access to four of the most beautiful dog parks in the area. Not only will you get to take your dog to four fenced in off-leash parks to play and meet other dogs, but you will be able to take them to two different dog beaches! The city also has multiple dog-friendly locations, including museums and shopping centers! Galveston truly understands how important your furry friend is to you.
At approximately thirty-two miles north of Texas City you will find Deer Park, a very small town that’s home to the Ella and Friends Dog Park. This gigantic dog park is everything your dog could ever want! This park is completely fenced in and does not require any dogs to be leashed at any time! It also has two separate areas: one for large dogs and the other for small dogs. But that is not all. The park has lighting for night time, doggie poop bags and water! So leave that leash at home and get ready to have a pawtastic day!
If you live in Houston, you already know the city is pretty much doggie heaven. But if you are a Texas City resident, don’t despair. You are only fifty miles from the great city that is home to approximately eighteen dog parks. But that is not all! The city not only has a park for everyone and every dog’s personality, but it also has plenty of dog-friendly locations! You can visit one or more dog parks, or head to the many events, stores and shopping areas where dogs are welcome! You won’t need a leash for the dog parks as they are all off-leash. Just make sure you take a leash in case you want to walk around the dog-friendly city and grab lunch at a dog-friendly restaurant!
At only twenty-four miles from Texas City is La Porte, a beautiful city home to one dog park. The Little Cedar Bayou Dog Park is everything you could want in a dog park. This off-leash, fenced-in park has two zones: one for small dogs and one for large dogs. It also has freshly cut lush green grass and a water feature. The park is located within a large community park so you will have to walk through the community park to get to the dog park. You’ll need to keep Fido on a leash any time you’re outside of the dog park. The park is frequented by locals, so you and your furry friend should be prepared to make some new friends!
