Read/ Saxton
For a fun day out with all the family, head down to Mountain View Park when you are in Delta! This pawsome park has lots to do, with walking trails for a leisurely stroll with your pooch, as well as a basketball court and playground for the kids. There are also picnic tables to chill out and enjoy some treats when the sun is out, and washrooms if needed. For some hiking, you can enjoy Gunnison Gorge via the Ute Trail. Your pooch is welcome on leash, as you enjoy the stunning scenery and retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Enjoy dining on classic American dishes with your pup at the Tru Vu Drive-In, which offers indoor and outdoor seating.

Escalante/ Dominguez
If you pup likes to ruff it, they will love the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area in Delta! This beautiful place has stunning scenery, with red rock canyons, historic sites and the Gunnison River you can enjoy. Your furry friend will love to hike the sniff-tastic trails by your side; just be sure to bring some water and treats for along the way! There is lots of oppawtunities to spot wildlife at the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area, so it may be best to keep your pooch on their leash. This includes bighorn sheep, deer, turkey and elk, so keep an eye out!

Delta City Center
When you are in Delta, you have got to bring your furry friend to Confluence Park. This is a pawsome place for exercise with your pup, with 265 acres of land to explore! There are five miles of sniff-tastic trails you can enjoy, as well as a beautiful 50 acre lake. When the sun is out, you can enjoy some treats at the picnic sites, and there are also fire pits for the evening. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for wildlife in Confluence Park! All pups can be top dog here, as long as they remain on leash. Staying for the night? Try the Quality Inn Delta, where your pup of ay size can stay for a small fee per night.

Cedaredge
If you drive 15 miles northeast of Delta to Cedaredge, you will find some puptastic places you can explore with your furry friend. This includes the Crag Crest National Recreation Trail Loop! This is an 8.7 mile sniff-tastic trail through the Grand Mesa National Forest where you can exercise with your pup and take in the fresh air and sights of nature. As you hike through the grass and trees, your pooch will love to investigate all of the new scents along the way! Just be sure your pup remains on leash while in this area.

Hotchkiss
If you travel for 20 miles northeast of Delta, you will reach the puptown of Hotchkiss. Here you will find a pawsome place where you can enjoy a comfortable stay on your travels to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The Hotchkiss Inn welcomes two pups weighing up to 25 Ibs for a small additional fee per stay. With lots of amenities here, you will feel right at home, with free Wi-Fi, barbecue grills and a picnic area to chill out at the end of the day. Plus, you have all of the conveniences you need to keep you and your pup happy after exploring the sniff-tastic trails at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
