Downtown Ouray
The small town of Ouray is literally dominated by its downtown area, where you'll find all the recreation, dining, shipping and cultural facilities the city has to offer. Head straight to the intersection of 2nd Street and 8th Avenue, where Ouray Dog Park is located. This is a small fenced area with enough room to run, play, and have fun on a sunny day. The locals are usually very friendly, but there's a chance that you may the sole visitors here! This is a great place to exercise and play fetch, so bring some water and toys with you to have a blast. Hungry? A few eateries on Main Street are happy to welcome your canine friend, such as Maggie’s, serving up flavorful meals at dog-friendly outdoor tables.

Ironton
Ironton is a ghost town to the south of Ouray offering a thrilling and exciting adventure for every tourist and visitor. There is almost nothing left except abandoned houses and wilderness, but in the northern part of the former town, you will find Ironton Park, which is a part of Ouray Nordic Trails. The place is a favorite destination for tourists during winter, but in summer, the park is just a heaven for dog owners looking for long on-leash walks with pooches. Suitable for hiking, the easy trails here provide an unforgettable adventure through the beautiful nature and scenery.

North Ridgway
The road between Ridgway and Ouray is one of the busiest in the area because of visitors traveling back and forth seeking new places, ghost towns, and adventures. If you want to visit Ridgway and find out what is so exciting about the city, hit the road with your pooch and head north. The town is smaller than its southern neighbor, but it has an amazing trail system with a special off-leash area for pups to cool off, swim in the river and have a splashing good time. Make sure to keep an eye on your brave swimmer: the area is not fenced or protected.

Ridgway State Park
One of the most popular parks in Colorado is located just north of Ridgway.
