Thinking about settling into Lake City? This enchanting mountain town is a great place for families who love to live surrounded by nature. While there are no designated dog parks in the area, you’ll find you don’t need one! Walk along the Henson Creek Trail, or visit the Lake City Town Park for some exercise. Just be sure to keep Fido safely leashed. In the summer, you can even camp out at the River Fork Campgrounds nearby. For even more outdoor fun, venture a few miles north to the Waterdog Lake, which features a moderately difficult trail for more experienced four-legged hikers.36

Want to immerse yourself in nature alongside your best friend? Take a trip to the Rio Grande National Forest, where pets are welcome, so long as they remain leashed.
