In the nearby town of Paonia, you and your pup can visit the Paonia River Park, which lies on the North Fork of the Gunnison River. Hike the one-mile trail which runs along the river or throw in a line to catch some trout! The Needle Rock Natural Area, on the northside of Crawford, is situated in the West Elk Mountains. It is the perfect place to spend some quality time together in nature. Take your hiking shoes and a leash for Fido, and jump on the Bureau of Land Management Trail that runs along the bottom of a natural volcanic plug, located here. This trail forms a loop, perfect for a hiking adventure. There are no restrooms or water, so plan accordingly.

Or why not take a blanket to throw down and enjoy a picnic lunch together? This is also the perfect place to throw in your fishing line and try to catch some dinner.
