Head to Rotary Triangle Park for some fun! This is a smaller neighborhood park, but offers plenty of grassy space to play fetch with your pup’s favorite Frisbee or ball. There are also picnic tables and a grill for enjoying some barbequing. For a real treat, you can also grab a bite to eat at the Hot Tomato Café. You can tuck into some handcrafted pizzas, and try some Belgian beers. Since there is dog friendly seating outdoors, your furry friend can join you and watch the world go by!

You have got to have a day out at James M Robb Colorado River State Park! This is located in the nearby puptown of Clifton. This pawsome place is spread into different sections in nearby towns, which means there is a sniff-tastic trail system here to explore with your pooch. You can enjoy beautiful views and retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, with the oppawunity to spot wildlife and fish along the way. All pups are welcome at James M Robb Colorado River State Park, as long as they are on leash. Since it is a state park, there is a fee for entrance, but, with the miles of puptastic trails here, it is worth every penny!

Loma

Loma

For a peaceful afternoon with your pup, head over to Loma, which is only six miles from Fruita. Here you will find the Highline Lake State Park, which offers plenty of open green grass and sniff-tastic trails to exercise with your pooch. There are also two beautiful lakes here and the chance for fun activities with all the family. If you love dinosaurs, you have got to check out the Trail Through Time Palaeontological Trail! Here you can bring your pooch and check out bones and fossils as you walk around this historical sight. Since this is a dessert site, be sure to bring some water for your pup, as well as a pair of boots for their paws when it’s hot!

Spanish Trail

Spanish Trail

For a fun trip with your pooch, head nine miles south east of Fruita to the Spanish Trail neighborhood in Grand Junction. Here you will find the pawsome Canyon View Dog Park! There is no better place for a day out, with 3.2 acres of enclosed space where your pup can roam and run off leash. There are two areas offered, one for smaller pooches and one for larger and more active dogs. There are also benches where you can watch your pup make new furry friends, as well as having plenty of space for catching Frisbee. Be sure to bring some water and treats for after all that fun!

Forsieght

Forsieght

Forsieght is a furiendly place located in Grand Junction, which is only 10 miles southeast of Fruita. Here you can visit the pawsome McAlister’s Deli to grab a bite to eat with your pooch. You have a great choice of sandwiches to satisfy your growling stomach, as well as salads and soups. There are lots of dog friendly tables available outside where you can sit back and relax with your furry friend. Just be sure there is someone that can watch your pup when you go to order your food, as table service isn’t available here at McAlister’s Deli.
