Union Reservoir

The Union Reservoir Beach in Longmont has gone to the dogs, quite literally! This body of water spans over 700 acres and has a swimming beach sectioned off specifically for pooches! Not to worry, humans, you can go for a dip with Fido, too! Your mutts will love this chance to roam the shore leash-free and bask in the sun with their newfound buddies! The reservoir is just over 10 miles from Firestone, making the pawfect place for a day trip with your fur-children! Bring a picnic basket and a few waste bags; you’re gonna want to stay a while!

Kings Corner

The Kings Corner neighborhood in Loveland is the trendiest place around for local pooches. Your pooches will feel like royalty after they pick up some new duds from The Promenade Shops at Centerra, off Sky Pond Drive. This outlet mall has over 30 pet-friendly stores from designer clothing outlets to toy stores! Feeling a little bloated from that food court grub? Stroll over to Fairgrounds Dog Park on Railroad Avenue to burn off some calories with a game of ball! The park is complete with picnic tables, water fountains, and a small dog area! Don’t worry, big guys -- there is a special section for you, too!

Bella Vista Dr

Dogs who dig fine food and cool swimming holes will adore the Bella Vista area! This neighborhood is home to the Louisville Dog Park, which even has a pond for pups to practice their dog paddle! Nearby Huckleberry Café and Bakery is a great dog-friendly spot serving up what they call “funky country” cookin’. Craving sweet AND savory? Stop in on a Monday to grab the chicken and waffles special! The food isn’t the only thing that’s unique about this joint; the building itself has quite a story! The building was built in 1894 and served as a post office and then a pharmacy. But during prohibition, tunnels were carved underneath by miners so they could pass from saloon to saloon without being caught. Huckleberry's is so good that it’s criminal!

Westminster Hills

You canine will feel right at home at the Westminster Hills Dog Park, which is more like a national park for dogs than your standard bark park! This enormous open space is a favorite hangout for local dogs to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, and we are sure you and Fido will love the fresh air just as much! Leashes are not required here, so pooches are free to explore at their leisure and even dip their paws in the creek! The park can get quite muddy, so we advise you bring a towel for the ride home.

Irondale

Are your pooches tuckered from that long walk but not ready to be homeward bound? Park the car and relax a while at the 88 Drive-In Theatre in Commerce City.  The drive-in operates every night, rain or shine, so it is pawfect for dreary days when the park isn’t an option! Admission is only $8 per person (for three feature films!) and children under 12 are always free! If your pal is on the losing end of the hunger games, stop by the concessions stand for a cheeseburger and a tub of pupcorn! Your fur-kids will be begging for a sequel!
