Dog Areas in Hobe Sound

This interesting place in Florida got its name from the Jove (sometimes called Jobe) tribe, a group of Native Americans that originally occupied this area. Hobe Sound received its name all the way back in 1699, all because the original Spanish settlers mispronounced "Jobe" as "Hobe". Today, this quaint locale is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. When it comes to veterinary care, Hobe Sound offers two animal hospitals that will help you out with anything that you might need concerning your pup's health.

Hobe Sound is only 22 miles from Port St. Lucie, which is one of the biggest cities in Florida and is definitely worth visiting. Another bigger city that is close to Hobe Sound is West Palm Beach, located around 27 miles away from Hobe Sound.

If you and your pooch are into camping, you'll pawsitively love visiting Jonathan Dickinson State Park Campground in Hobe Sound. Don't like the idea of "ruffing" it? There are plenty of pet-friendly Airbnb rentals in the city. You can also go to Jupiter for more choices, which is just 10 miles away from Hobe Sound.

If you're in the mood to enjoy some adult beverages and live music in the company of your pooch, we recommend that you pay a visit to Scooters. Prefer something a little quieter? Share a bite at Taste Casual Dining, and top it off with a sweet treat at Ice Cream & More.

One of the best off-leash beaches in Florida is Jupiter Beach, located just 10 miles away from Hobe Sound. The beach can be found in Jupiter Beach Park in East Jupiter. There is a designated place where doggos can dig freely in the sand and dip their paws in the water without having to tug on the leash. There is free parking near the beach, which is a big plus on those infamously hot Florida summer days. Make sure you bring plenty of fresh water and a water bowl, as well as doggie baggies for cleaning up. There are showers and dog baggies at every entrance.
