Hi there, My name is Melissa, but I'm known around my neighborhood as the dog whisperer... I grew up in a home with 2 dogs 3 cats and 17 birds, I also worked in the pet industry for many years. I have a tremendous amount of love and respect for all living creatures, I am very honest, trustworthy, loving, kind, and I've never met a dog that didn't love me! I currently have 2 rescue fur babies of my own, (I'm a big fan of saving lives!) I'm also the go-to girl in my neighborhood if someone needs a babysitter or even if they cant get home to let their kid out to potty, I'm the girl! I've handled many furbabies over the years ranging from 4lb Yorkies to 100lb pit bulls, I love them all the same! I'd love to put your worries at ease and show you how safe and happy your baby will be in my care! Can't wait to meet you all.

I absolutely love animals and have so since I was young. I won the title “Miss Compassion” in High School. Since then, I worked in shelters and started my own dog walking & pet Sitting business. In my Will and Testament, my money is donated to PETA and the Humane Society. If that doesn’t show you my love for animals, I don’t know what will.

Hi! I’m a 25 year old art student & vegetarian with a passion for animals & the environment. I’ve had dogs my whole life (two German shepherds, a pit bull rotwieler mix, and a labradoodle - big babies!), as well as cats and a lovebird! I’ve babysat children and animals since I was 12 years old. My dad trained all of my dogs and is a true dog whisperer so I retained a lot from him. I’m so excited to get outside with your pup!

Dog Walking in Hobe Sound

This interesting place in Florida got its name from the Jove (sometimes called Jobe) tribe, a group of Native Americans that originally occupied this area. Hobe Sound received its name all the way back in 1699, all because the original Spanish settlers mispronounced "Jobe" as "Hobe". Today, this quaint locale is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. When it comes to veterinary care, Hobe Sound offers two animal hospitals that will help you out with anything that you might need concerning your pup's health.

Hobe Sound is only 22 miles from Port St. Lucie, which is one of the biggest cities in Florida and is definitely worth visiting. Another bigger city that is close to Hobe Sound is West Palm Beach, located around 27 miles away from Hobe Sound.

If you and your pooch are into camping, you'll pawsitively love visiting Jonathan Dickinson State Park Campground in Hobe Sound. Don't like the idea of "ruffing" it? There are plenty of pet-friendly Airbnb rentals in the city. You can also go to Jupiter for more choices, which is just 10 miles away from Hobe Sound.

If you're in the mood to enjoy some adult beverages and live music in the company of your pooch, we recommend that you pay a visit to Scooters. Prefer something a little quieter? Share a bite at Taste Casual Dining, and top it off with a sweet treat at Ice Cream & More.

One of the best off-leash beaches in Florida is Jupiter Beach, located just 10 miles away from Hobe Sound. The beach can be found in Jupiter Beach Park in East Jupiter. There is a designated place where doggos can dig freely in the sand and dip their paws in the water without having to tug on the leash. There is free parking near the beach, which is a big plus on those infamously hot Florida summer days. Make sure you bring plenty of fresh water and a water bowl, as well as doggie baggies for cleaning up. There are showers and dog baggies at every entrance.

This park is fairly close to Hobe Sound, around 12 miles away, and is located in South Stuart. The park is securely enclosed and has designated areas for smaller doggies and larger pups to keep everyone safe and happy. The park is very well-maintained and provides water bowls for the doggies. There is even a lake where dogs can dip their paws outside of the fenced area. Just make sure you're really careful since there have been warnings about alligators in the lake!

How would you feel about a whole dog-friendly island? (Pretty good, we'd wager!) It's not a dream -- it really exists, and it's called Peanut Island! The island is around 21 miles away from Hobe Sound, and it can be accessed via a dog-friendly ferry ride for $10, or you can kayak there with your dog. You can even rent a boat, so you have plenty of options depending on your need for adventure. Officially, your pup has to be on-leash on the island, but plenty of people let their well-behaved dogs off-leash. Make sure you take water and poop baggies with you. You can even go camping on the island -- and doggies are, of course, welcome to join you!

Another fairly close dog park to Hobe Sound is the Lyngate Dog Park, which is ruffly 20 miles away. This park includes three separate areas that allow small, medium-sized, and large dogs to play separately for your peace of mind. Water is available, and waste baggies are supplied so you can do your bit to help keep the park clean. Agility equipment is provided here for especially active pups that need a little more exercise. The park also offers shaded benches so you can keep an eye on your pooch while you rest, relax, and make some new friends yourself!
