After working up an appetite at Poppleton, head into downtown Stuart, where you’ll find plenty of pet-friendly eateries that will allow your darling dog to dine with you. Whether you’re craving seafood, tacos, or noodles, Stuart has a little something for every pup. Bone Appetit!

Jenson Beach

Twenty minutes from Palm City, Jenson Beach is an extravagant place to visit if you enjoy both beaches and the company of Fido. This gorgeous beach is sure to have your dog howling for more. Dogs are free to run on the shoreline or enjoy the waves alongside you. This is a great place to teach your old dog some new tricks! With a wide span of space available to play one on one with your furry friends and to take a much needed long walk on the beach, Jenson Beach is perfect for a relaxing getaway. The beach is beautifully designed with crystal water and white sand, making both you and your dog extremely happy. After a day of fun in the sun, head on over to any of the dog-friendly eateries in the area, including Jan’s Place, Kona Beach Cafe, and Santo’s Pizza Restaurant.

Port Saint Lucie

Port Saint Lucie is only eighteen minutes from Palm City, and has two highly-rated dog parks: Oak Hammock Park and Lynngate Park. Dogs are free to roam around in the grass at Lynngate Park in separate fenced-in areas, while covered picnic tables and restrooms are available for pet owner comfort as well. With training ramps for agility, dogs can easily practice obedience while having a little fun. Trails are also provided for dog owners who prefer to keep their dogs on leash, while having the space to relieve energy. Dogs exploring Oak Hammock Park must stay on their leash. Both parks are a great place for a fun day out with the whole family!

Fort Pierce

Fort Pierce is just a 30 minute drive, so let Fido hang his head out the window and enjoy the gorgeous scenery along the way. With a dog park and hiking trail, Fort Pierce is a gift from Mother Nature. The local Botanical Gardens is home to the largest tropical bonsai collection in public eye. Other themed rooms and gardens are also available to visit containing palm and cycads, herb gardens, reflection gardens, tropical perennials, ferns, gingers, and other native plants. Just don’t let Fido get too curious while he’s sniffing out the flora! This glorious garden in Fort Pierce is dog-friendly, so long as your pup remains on-leash. There are also trails accessible along the Indian River Lagoon for leashed dogs to explore with their humans. With all the nature adventures to explore, Fort Pierce is a beautiful city to visit not too far from Palm City.

Vero Beach

Vero Beach is a little longer away from Palm City, about 50 minutes, but is well worth the drive. Hidden on the Indian River, a ¾ mile trail passes through beautiful oak hammocks and wetlands leading to the ocean. Other trails are also available to hike, as well as local dog parks for more game-based play. Areas in the parks are separated by dog weight in order to insure safe play. Water fountains are provided for both dogs and owners as well as benches under shady trees to provide maximum comfort. With all the pawtastic activities to do in Vero Beach with Fido, it will be hard to tell who’s having more fun, the dogs or their owners.
