Halfway between Miami and Orlando, lies the fresh city of Port St. Lucie, Florida. The large city is a favorite tourist destination due to its high number of attractions, regional parks, beautiful sceneries and the St. Lucie river itself. Port St. Lucie is popular with nature lovers as well as animal owners.
Port St. Lucie also has a couple of beaches. Unfortunately, none of these beaches are accessible with dogs. Locals turn to the nearest alternative, which is the Walton Rocks Beach located at a small distance from Jensen Beach.
Dog owners do not necessarily have to go to the beach to walk their dogs. Port St. Lucie has its very own off-leash dog park, Lynngate Dog Park. This park is divided into three separate sections: an area for small dogs, an area for medium-sized dogs and an area for large dogs. There are dog agility structures for dogs that love exercise, and there are plenty of trees that provide shade.
If you fancy a short stay in Port St. Lucie and plan to bring your pets along, you’ll be happy to know that there are multiple pet-friendly lodging options in town, including the Holiday Inn and Homewood Suites.
