Truman Avenue runs through the center of the island and is near plenty of dog friendly activities, dining and lodging options. Enjoy a fun day out on the water with your pooch with Meridian Charters. They offer custom boat charters lasting from two to eight hours for up to six people and your dog! Private charters include fishing, snorkeling, lobster hunting, harbor tours, and sunset viewing. There are countless restaurants and bars that are dog friendly like Garbo’s Grill, B.O.’s Fish Wagon, Pepe’s Café & Steakhouse, Harpoon Harry’s, Half Shelf Raw Bar, and Dante’s just to name a few.

Mallory Square

Located right off the pier and overlooking the Sunset Key Island, Mallory Square is surrounded by dining, drinking, and gorgeous views. The Key West Aquarium allows well-behaved, leashed pups to come along and enjoy the touch tank, jellyfish exhibit, alligator exhibit, shark feedings, and tours! Check out local acts on the Westin Dock perform! The “Catman” and his team of cats perform comedy routines on the Westin Dock each night with a dog-friendly audience. Whitehead Street is in very close proximity to the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, and The Key West Naval Air Station. The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum allows well-behaved, leashed pets of all varieties to come along for the tour. Fort Zachary Taylor State Park is popular for recreation. U.S Military History and offers picnicking, swimming, snorkeling, fishing and access to gorgeous nature trails.
