Kendall is a small, but bustling town that is a suburb of Miami. The small city is only 15 miles from Miami's downtown, and offers small town delights near big city comforts. The four-legged residents of Kendall enjoy the number of dog-friendly spaces available here, and 11 animal hospitals.
One dog-friendly space is known as the Kendall Indian Hammocks Park, a 14,000 square foot area with open areas, ballfields, a skatepark, and dense forests with trails. The large area is something out of a fairy tale for the small city, offering some of the only city-developed forested trails in the area. The park is dog-friendly to leashed pups, and even offers nighttime lights, water fountains, clean-up stations, benches, and trash bins.
For an even more natural experience, Kendall has the Rockdale Pineland Preserve in the southern part of the city. The preserve boasts 39 acres of natural vegetation, with over 225 types of native plants and trees. There are boardwalks and dirt trails available for visitors at no cost, with the option to bring your pup along for a relaxing walk through the quiet area. Your pup has to remain on a leash, and you should remember to bring some water and clean-up bags!

The neighborhood of Heftler Sunset Park is on the northern side of the city, and is filled with residential homes, schools and canals. Residents in the community like to head to the Snapper Creek Park for its vibrant green fields, shaded sitting areas, and gorgeous views of the canal. The park is dog-friendly, and includes a 1-mile paved path that encircles the park, with trees bordering every edge of the area. Other pawsome amenities are available, like a playground, water fountains, picnic tables, clean-up stations, and benches. The park connects to a neighborly trail that doesn't have a name, and extends 1 mile out of the park, winding through the neighborhood. Pups must remain on a leash inside and outside the park.
Sabal Chase is a small and homely community, completely made up of residential homes set in an even square. Right in the center of the neighborhood is the Sabal Chase Park that offers a nice getaway. Inside, you will find a large open field, soccer fields, and lots of shade. The dog-friendly park has a paved walkway, benches, trash bins, and water fountains that are available from sunrise to sunset. Another park in the neighborhood is the Rock Ridge Park, which has something for everyone, including open fields, paved walkways, a playground, a pavilion, and shade from the hot Florida sun! Don't forget to leash up Fido before coming here, and bring some water and clean-up bags!
The Village of Kendale is an older community, and stays pretty active during the day. When you need an open space to get active with your pup, head to Kendale Park. The park is nestled among the residential homes of the neighborhood, offering lots of towering trees, paved paths, and a playground. The path encircles the park, traveling over 1.2 miles with access points to water fountains, trash bins, benches, and clean-up stations. There's a lighted racquetball court and an enclosed tennis court that are also dog-friendly, a recreation center, basketball courts, and seasonal programs. The hours of the park are from sunrise to sunset.
The upscale neighborhood of Richmond Heights is on the southwest side of Kendall, and is known for its crowded residential homes and bustling streets. The highlight of the community is Richmond Park, a spacious but peaceful place to go walk Fido. with lots of trees that offer shade and privacy, the park also contains a concrete walkway that encircles the park, two baseball diamonds, enclosed tennis and basketball courts, and a picnic area. Dogs are welcome on in the enclosed courts, to play in the open fields, or take a walk around the park as long as they remain on a leash. Additional features include water fountains, benches, and clean-up stations.
The Falls is a famous neighborhood, with lots of waterways and a manmade lake, known for being pretty disconnected from the rest of Kendall. Right on the water is the Briar Bay Linear Park, which is a long stretch of land that offers a scenic greenway and playground, and lots of space to run around or play a good game of fetch. Right across the water is the Briar Bay Park that provides lots more shade. The area isn't on the water, but is surrounded by thick trees, and has a looping trail with a playground. Leashed pups are welcome in both parks ,and will have access to benches and water fountains.
