Hey, my name is Erik. I am currently a college student and most of my life there has been a furry family member. Right now it is a Siberian Husky named Luna who lives with my brother. Dog Walking in Palmetto Bay

Palmetto Bay is a growing community! This Miami suburb is a gorgeous slice of the woofderful life, and canine residents agree! Once upon a time, Palmetto Bay was a designer commuter town for the greater Miami area. Now, it’s a thriving urban center in its own right. Palmetto Bay has one veterinary clinic, but there are almost a dozen more within a fifteen minute drive!

Your dog is free to explore without fear! Start these amazing explorations in Coral Reef Park! This family-oriented park is a great place to bring the whole crew. Leashed dogs are welcome to join you on the walking paths, picnic areas, or alongside the canal!

Ludovici Park is another must-see spot in Palmetto Bay! This park is great for photo ops, and your leashed pet will love it to. It’s more for picnics and posing, so if you have a crew of kids to entertain you may be happier in Coral Reef Park, or another one of Palmetto Bay’s great public parks. In Palmetto Bay, you have the luxury of finding the right park for the right gathering!

When the long twilight finally fades and you rest your weary paws, there’s no need to stop that tail from wagging--there’s more Palmetto Bay to see tomorrow!

Bill Sadowski Hammock Preserve is not an area where hammocks grow naturally from the ground. It’s still an amazing place to take your pet in Central Palmetto Bay. This little spot of land is a preserve, so it’s very important to keep your dog on leash the entire visit. It’s the best way to convince the wildlife it’s safe to stay! Though your dog can’t visit the nature center, the two of you can explore the many paths and bike trails that make the park so popular. It’s also a great fishing spot, so bring a posse and find something for everyone!

Waterfront picnics are one the charms of Florida, and they don’t get better than an afternoon lunch at Snowden’s Dam. This structure is in the background while your lunch is in the foreground. There’s also space for launching boats (motorized and man powered!) and fishing at this location. Relax on the grass next to the water feature, or take your pup for a long walk down the river front! Just be aware that drinking fountains are few and far between at this park, and pack water of your own for yourself and your dog. It’s hotter than it feels outside!

Ludlam Pineland Preserve is a small park great for shy dogs. If you don’t want to get caught up with the crowd, this is the place to go. This park doesn’t have as many amenities as some others, but it does have green grass and room to walk! Ludlam Pineland Preserve is in King’s Bay, a neighborhood that straddles Palmetto Bay and neighboring Cutler Bay. If you’re north of downtown Palmetto Bay, this park is the closest place you can go to get away from it all and feel like you’re out in nature!  Bring your own water bowl for your pup to drink out of, and be sure to keep your dog on leash inside the park.
