The central neighborhood of Miami Lakes is named after the city, and houses two great parks, including Miami Lakes’ only dog park! K-9 Cove is a simple dog park well on its way to being something truly amazing. This fenced in, off leash park has young trees. In time, they’ll cast a bit more shade, but for now they’re adequate! The park is mostly flat ground, with plenty of room to roam. It’s very pupular, so shy dogs may prefer you heading down the road to Picnic Park West instead. Dogs have to be on leash at Picnic Park West, but you can get in a good walk around the playground.

Royal Garden Estates

The Royal Oaks Park in the Royal Garden Estates neighborhood of Miami Lakes is a fantastic place to bring your dog--or the whole family! The park is large, with many activities. Kids will enjoy the playground and multiple sports fields. There are picnic spots, as well as grassy meadows for everyone. Dogs will probably enjoy the trail the most. It’s a simple path the winds through the park. This easy path is fairly short, but you can go back and forth without worrying about running into crowds. Your dog has to be on leash in the park, and bring a doggie bowl with you for the fountains!

East Miami Lakes

Youth Center Park East in East Miami Lakes is a great park to go to early in the morning, or in the evening before bed. If you’re just looking for a park close to your residential neighborhood, this is the best. There’s a lot that dogs can’t do at Youth Center Park East. For example, they’re not allowed into the community center and fitness hub. However, there’s plenty of space to walk. Circle the full sized sports fields, or loop the entire park for an invigorating workout! It’s great for shy dogs who don’t love crowds, as there’s plenty of room to spread out.

Lakes on the Green

Lakes on the Green is named for the sprawling golf courses and lake features that run through it. This neighborhood is uncommonly pretty, which gives you a great view while dining outdoors with your dog! Carrabba’s Italian Grill is a pupular destination. Both locals and tourists flock to this spot, so feel free to make a reservation to be certain you’ll get one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables. Dine on classic Italian entrees as well as appetizers, small plates, and wood-fired pizza. A bowl of water will keep your dog happy while you enjoy the scenery of Lakes on the Green.

Miami Lakes PSN is a combination neighborhood that offers residents plenty to do close to home. The best thing for your dog? Stopping by Elevation Burger! This burger joint is a casual eatery that’s serious about flavor! Their large menu seeks to bring new combinations of burger goodness to your taste buds. Bring your dog with you to one of Elevation Burger’s outdoor tables and prepare for a fine meal. If you’re not much of a burger person, don’t fear--this restaurant has veggie burgers as well!
