West Lighthouse Point
The west side of Lighthouse point around Copans Road and Route 1 is a fantastic neighborhood to visit if you are traveling through this part of Florida; it has many dog-friendly options for both food and activities. To fill your appetite, definitely stop by Offerdahl’s: the restaurant has over eight outdoor tables that can accommodate dogs, and they serve fresh artisanal dishes with a focus on quality ingredients. Pibus Burgers is another good restaurant that has outdoor seating, and as you might have guessed from the name, they serve burgers and other savory American classics that are sure to fill you up!

Downtown Lighthouse Point
Downtown Lighthouse Point is a fun place to explore, even more so if you bring your dog along! You can enjoy the beautiful Florida weather while taking a stroll through Frank Mcdonough Park in the center of town. Dan Witt Park is also a good place to meander on a sunny day — it is over six acres and has restrooms, a refreshment stand, and more. There are also some good places to eat with your canine companion within walking distance from the parks: Bura Italian Restaurant makes delicious and authentic Italian food; Red Fox Diner is great for a casual meal; and Frosty Point Ice Cream Parlor is perfect for a sweet treat! They all have dog-friendly outdoor seating.

Pompano Airpark
Just south of Lighthouse Point lies Pompano Beach, a scenic beachfront neighborhood with a wide array of things to do with a furry friend. Canine Corner Dog Park is a great place to spend some time with your dog — it is almost three acres, has separate sections for large and small dogs, contains dog water guzzlers, and has benches to sit on. Note that a pass for the park must be purchased at the Aquatics Center on 18th Ave. There are also great dog-friendly restaurants in Pompano Beach, like La Veranda and Galuppi’s: both restaurants have outdoor seating where you and a four-legged friend can enjoy some delicious food!

North Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale is a well-known vacation destination, and its North Side is a short trip away from Lighthouse Point. North Fort Lauderdale has many superb dining options and multicultural cuisine, so it is a great place to visit for anyone with an appetite! For some filling Mexican cuisine inspired by the famous artist Frida Kahlo, head to Casa Frida. For some delicious sushi or spicy Thai food, try Tee-Jay Thai Sushi Restaurant. Also consider the Ambry Restaurant on Commercial Boulevard; it is a local favorite for its hearty German classics. These restaurants all have dog-friendly outdoor seating, and there are more restaurants here to choose from, so consider taking a walk around the neighborhood to see what hits you!

The Cove
Deerfield Beach is just north of Lighthouse Point, and it is a great place to visit if you are traveling with a furry friend. There are many parks there to explore, such as Sullivan Park, a small waterfront park that makes for a great walk in the warm Florida air. Pioneer Park is another option in Deerfield Beach; it is further inland on Eller Street. While you’re at Deerfield Beach, also make sure you try some delicious food available from the many restaurants with dog-friendly outdoor seating. Two Georges at the Cove is a local favorite for seafood, and Thai Sushi Express has great Asian cuisine.
