Three miles out of Middletown is Port Monmouth, home to the Bay Shore Waterfront Park. This area is a great spot to take Fido for a nice walk and a great day out, especially since it is right on the beach. The scenic walk will give you and Fido a great backdrop for a lovely photo. While at the park, make sure to walk on the sand and collect all the seashells you see. If you and your pup are looking for a great hike, check out the Henry Hudson Trail. This trail is 22-miles long with a asphalt, gravel, and sand ground covering. Your pup will love this hike and all the smells he can explore.
If you and Fido are looking for a great place to grab a bite to eat, stop into Holmdel, which is only four miles out of Middletown. Check out Patricia's of Holmdel which specializes in Italian cuisine. They dish out Italian classics like pizza and pasta. If you're looking for some great American classic food, then head into TGI Fridays, which offers some great eats like burgers, wings, and ribs. Both of these great restaurants offer dog friendly patios for you and Fido to eat together. If you want to work off your meal together, then head to Veterans Park right by Patricia's of Holmdel. This pawsome park offers a great walking path for you and Fido to roam, plus tons of open grass for Fido to play fetch on.
Grab Fido and head to the Thompson Dog Park in the nearby town of Lincroft. Only four miles out, your dog will love being able to go off leash and meet new friends at this puptastic dog park. The park offers two separate areas for large and small dogs, plus tons of walking trails and a lake where pups can jump and splash around if they like water. There are benches for the owners to relax on, and the park provides clean-up bags in case you forget yours. Make sure to bring plenty of water to keep your pup hydrated.
Four miles out of Middletown in Red Bank is a plethora of dog friendly restaurants where you and Fido can grab a bite to eat. Earth Pizza strives to make eco-friendly food using natural ingredients. You can make tons of different kinds of pizza while you visit this great eatery. The Belmont is a trendy bar with a tasty menu that includes burgers. Gretna's serves delicious Italian food in a market style eatery. All of these pawsome restaurants offer dog friendly patios where you and Fido can dine together. You and your pup will be driving home with full tummies after visiting one of these great eateries.
The Wolf Hill Dog Park is a great spot to take Fido for a great day out of exercise and off leash fun. The park is in Oceanport, only eight miles out of Middletown, and features 4-acres with separated areas for large and small dogs. The park also offers clean-up bags, restrooms, benches, and tables for everyone to enjoy. The park does not provide any water, so be sure to bring your own. Locals love this park because it has more then enough room for dogs to run around and have a pawrific time.
