For a pawsome day out with your pooch, head to the west of Highlands to the next door puptown of Atlantic Highlands! Here you will find the pawsome Hartshorne Wood Park where you can enjoy some playtime and exercise with your pup on over 791 acres of land. Here you can explore over 14 miles of sniff-tastic trails through the forest and along the Navesink River, fish, and observe the wildlife that live here. If you get hungry, head to Maria’s Pizza and Restaurant. Here you can tuck into some sandwiches, pizza, and pasta, as well as sit out at one of the dog friendly tables with your canine.

Atlantic Highlands Borough Center

If your furry friend loves to explore new places, then make sure that you head through to Atlantic Highlands where you can explore the Henry Hudson Trail with your beloved companion. With over 22 miles, these sniff-tastic trails have plenty of trees to provide you with shade when it is hot, as well as wetlands and streams. if your stomach starts to growl, be sure to head to the Atlantic Bagel Company. Here you can get your paws into some cheesesteaks, sandwiches and salads. Your pup is more than welcome to join you at one of the tables outside.

This is a pawsome green spot that is located not far away from Highlands in the puptown of Leonardo. There are also furrific amenities here that you can enjoy with the whole family, including a baseball field, two basketball courts, three tennis courts and a playground for the kids to have some fun. There are also some trees that will provide you with shade when it is hot outside.

Just next door to the east of Highlandsis the puptown of Sea Bright where you can visit the furrific Sandy Hook. This is a pawsome beach that welcomes all beloved companions! Now your pup can enjoy having sand underneath his or her paws, as well as the oppawtunity to splash in the sea. All pooches can be top dog at Sandy Hook, as long as he or she remains on leash during your visit.
