Hospital/Pascack Brook

Westwood is located three miles south of Old Tappan. West Woof Dog Run is situated in Pascack Brook County Park. This dog park has two fully fenced enclosures for dogs to shed the leash and have a tail-waggin' good time! A separately fenced section keeps the small dogs safe while they play with their diminutive buddies. Drinking water is available on-site, and water bowls are provided by the dog park. A hose helps fill up those kiddie pools when the summer months make wearing a fur coat a hot proposition. The ground is covered with mulch and dirt. A good rinse off with the hose is all that's needed to spruce up for the ride home. The human companions appreciate the numerous benches positioned around the enclosures.

Prospect Avenue

Woodcliff Lake is located five miles west of Old Tappan. Wood Dale County Dog Park offers pooches a playground all their own for off-leash fun and exercise! This pawfect pup park has one grassy area that's completely fenced for all dogs to play together in. Good manners are a must! The dog park has water spigots. Numerous toys, such as frisbees and balls, make playtime a little more fun. Waste stations are fully stocked with waste baggies. In addition, the main park has a pavilion, gazebo, and a fishing lake for your and your leashed canine to experience together.

Paramus

Paramus is located nine miles south of Old Tappan. Van Saun County Park has many attractions for visitors from around Bergen County. It includes a fishing pond, a zoo, and plenty of places to picnic with a leashed four-legged friend. This county park has a fully fenced public dog park for some off-leash socialization and exercise. The dog park features an enclosure for large dogs and a separate area reserved for small pup play. The surface of the dog park is mostly covered with gravel -- no muddy paws to deal with in this dog park! Water isn't immediately available within the dog park, but the main park has plenty of drinking fountains and restrooms where a water bottle can be filled (at any time of the year). Waste baggies are provided by the dog park.

E Ridgewood Ave

Ridgewood is located nine miles west of Old Tappan. Ridgewood Bark Park adds some woof and wonder into your pup's ordinary day. This completely fenced dog play space has two enclosures. One section is set aside for large dogs and a second for the smaller pups. A double-gated entry prevents an overstimulated pup from heading out the wrong direction. The surface of the dog park is covered with a mix of grass, dirt, and mulch. Some mud is inevitable after a rainy day. A few pieces of agility equipment allow dogs to squeeze in a bit of training with their playtime. Mature trees lend their shade and keep the human companions relatively comfy even on one of those hot summer days.

Bellevue Ave

It is a short 22-mile drive south of Old Tappan to Montclair. Brookdale Dog Park has so many fun things for a pup to experience off-leash! The dog park features two completely fenced areas -- one for large dogs and a second one reserved for smaller doggos. The ground here is a hygienic gravel mulch. This dog park doesn't have the mud problems which plague many of the grassy dog parks in the area. Pieces of agility equipment are an added bonus. Water is available within the dog park so a forgotten water bottle is not a disaster. Pet parents will find many benches positioned under shade trees to rest on.
