Haworth is a small borough of fewer than 4,000 people located in Bergen County. It is a quiet suburban community situated less than thirty miles from New York City. The community is nestled among many such boroughs and townships. Everything a person with a pup could want or need is just a short drive away. No veterinarians practice in the borough, but dozens are located minutes away that deliver routine, specialized, and emergency care.
A person with a pup can look to Bergen County for many parks in which to hike and get some good stretches on-leash. One of these parks is Pascack Brook County Park. This park is less than four miles north of Haworth and has 79 acres of recreational space for you and your pup to check out. An easy stroll by a sparkling lake makes for a good start or end to the day.
Many more opportunities for outdoor hiking can be found at the Palisades Interstate Park. This park has 30 miles of hiking and skiing paths. It has two trails that span the entire twelve-mile length of the park. The Long Path or the Shore Trail will take you and your leashed pup through the most scenic parts of the park. These trails range in difficulty from easy to moderate. Many connecting trails of varying lengths and difficulties make this park more than just a single-day adventure from Haworth.
