Prospect Avenue
Woodcliff Lake is located four miles east of Saddle River. Wood Dale County Park is one of the Bergen County parks that cater to residents with dogs. This 118-acre park has picnic sites, pavilions, decorative gazebos, and a fishing lake. Dogs care most, though, about their play area! Set aside just for them is a fully fenced enclosure for off-leash exercise and fun! All dogs play together in this one area. Good manners and supervision are definitely required here. A water spigot keeps those water bowls full. Waste stations around the dog park are stocked with waste baggies. Numerous toys can be found for all to share.36

E Ridgewood Ave
Ridgewood is located four miles south of Saddle River. Ridgewood Bark Park sits close to a duck pond. This is a beautiful setting and a great location to take a leashed walk around with a human companion. Looking for some off-leash playtime? The Bark Park features two fully enclosed sections for large and small breeds. A double-gated entry provides a more secure entry and exit. The dogs can nose around in a surface of grass, dirt, and mulch. Hyper hounds will want to check the pieces of agility equipment. Large trees around the dog park keep the human companions comfy even on the hottest summer days.24

Paramus
Paramus is located seven miles south of Saddle River. Van Saun County Park has 146 acres of recreational space. Pups on a leash can get some exercise walking the 1.5-mile trail around Walden Pond. The highlight, though, of this county park is the dog park. This dog park has a fully fenced area for dogs to rid the leash and sniff out a few new furry pals. A separately fenced area is reserved for small dogs. This dog park is covered with gravel, so no muddy paws on rainy days! No drinking water is immediately available on-site. However, restrooms are just a short walk away in the main park. Waste stations provide waste bags to make pick-ups a snap.12

Hospital/Pascack Brook
Westwood is located six miles east of Saddle River. West Woof Dog Run puts some fun into that leash-free run! Like most dog parks, this one has two separate enclosures for small and large dogs. The ground is covered with mulch and patches of dirt. Drinking water is available on-site. A hose comes in handy to rinse off any mud before going home. The hose also fills up those kiddie pools that are so pupular in the hot summer months! The human companions will vie for the three park benches. A .75-mile loop trail in the main park will complete the exercise for the day. A leash is required in the main park.
