This neighborhood is always popular with dog owners, as this is where you will find one of the finest parks in the city. The Washington Irving Memorial Park is a scenic expanse of woodland and grassy areas that extends out for 32.5 acres, featuring everything from historic memorials and a butterfly garden, to picnic areas and a walking trail. If you and your pooch would like something to eat after your walk, head on over to the dog-friendly outdoor tables at the Rib Crib, where you and Fido can choose from a wide selection of championship ribs and sauces.

Pepper Tree

It takes just over 10 minutes to drive from Bixby to the Pepper Tree in Glenpool, and here you will be greeted by a pawsome city park. The Black Gold Park is home to sports facilities, a playground, picnic areas and a skate park, as well as a walking trail that will take you and Fido past all of the park's features. Since this is a city park, do not forget that you will need to keep your pooch on a lead, and bring some doggie bags and drinking water with you too. After your walk, treat your pup to a meal at CheeZies Pizza, which is known for their delicious slices of cheese and pepperoni pizzas.

Sheridan South

Just over eight miles from the center of Bixby is the Tulsa neighborhood of Sheridan South, which is the perfect area to head to for a tail-wagging walk. This is where you will find Hunter Park, with everything from sports facilities, picnic areas, playgrounds, and fishing ponds, to a walking trail just under a mile long. In addition to all of that, the park is also home to Biscuit Acres, a fenced-off dog park that stretches out for 2.5 acres. With separate areas for smaller and larger dogs, as well as water fountains, doggie bags and scoops, and shade structures, your pooch will love being able to have a good run in this pawsome park.

Brookside

The Tulsa neighborhood of Brookside is about 20 miles from Bixby, but the journey is more than worth it for all of the dog-friendly features that this neighborhood boasts. Begin at Zink Park, a 14.3 acre park with sports facilities, a playground, picnic shelters and a walking path that is pawfect for a leisurely stroll with Fido. Once the two of you have explored the park, check out some of the numerous dog-friendly restaurants in Brookside. Docs Wine and Food specializes in authentic Creole cuisine, while the Pei Wei Asian Diner serves up dishes from all around Asia. If your pup would prefer Mediterranean cuisine, Zoe's Kitchen is the place to go, while Brookside by Day is another popular eatery serving up casual comfort food.

Jenks

The small town of Jenks is just over 11 miles from Bixby, and is an area definitely worth exploring with your pooch. The 19 acre Veterans Park is always popular with dogs, because this sprawling green oasis boasts a scenic walking trail that will take you past the park's fishing pond, sports facilities, playgrounds and more, with plenty of open spaces for your pooch to sniff about in. After working up an appetite with all of that walking, head on over to Louies Grill and Bar for a specialty burger and other tasty pub grub dishes. If you would prefer something sweet, the Marble Slab Creamery serves up premium ice creams with a wide variety of flavors and toppings.
