The best dog friendly neighborhoods in Sperry

Easton Heights
This downtown Tulsa neighborhood features the Joe Station Dog Park, a large and well-maintained site with separate big and small dog sections, a canopied area with tables and benches for the humans, and convenient waste receptacles. Run by local volunteers, the park is lighted for nighttime use, which is an unusually pleasant feature for those who work until after dark, especially in the winter. There is clear signage regarding no children or food/treats within the park for safety reasons. With lots of safe green space to run and play, this is an ideal place to take your doggo for exercise and socialization. Woof!

Darlington
In the Darlington neighborhood of Tulsa lies dog-friendly Hunter Park, and within the Park is Biscuit Acres Bark Park. Hunter features a playground and basketball courts along with picnic shelters and other activities for the humans, but for the doggo, 2.5-acre Biscuit Acres is the best! It features benches and picnic tables for Fido’s Dad or Mom, and separate sections for large and small fur-pups. Water fountains and a hydrant are provided in both sections, and they are sheltered by large canvas sails. There’s natural shade, too, provided by the trees dotting the park, and volunteers regularly re-stock the waste bag containers while emptying the receptacles. They even provide metal scoops for easy pick-up! Come on down and have a romp!

Mingo
The Mingo neighborhood of Tulsa contains pet-friendly, 2,800-acre Mohawk Park, home to the Oxley Nature Center, hiking trails and vast expanses of green open space for running with the dogs or hanging a hammock for a relaxing swing with Fido by your side. The overall park is huge and hosts the Tulsa Zoo, athletic facilities and playgrounds, but the fun part for the doggo is the trails. Covering over 60 miles, most of the trails welcome Fido on leash but some don’t, so be sure to check the signs. The trails run alongside and over creeks, through densely wooded areas, around lakes and over marshes, with surprising views at every turn. This is a dog and dog-lover’s dream! Arf!
