Dog Walking in Hillsboro

Hillsboro is nestled in the Tualatin Valley just west of Portland. It’s the fifth largest city in Oregon, and the headquarters for many large tech companies, earning it the nickname Silicon Forest. With such a beautiful natural setting and a large amount of parks, it’s no wonder that dogs in Hillsboro are such happy hounds.

Pups living in Hillsboro have access to over two dozen parks. Noble Woods Park is a local canine favorite. Spanning 38 acres, this park has trails that wind through open and wooded areas, as well as boardwalks and bridges over Rock Creek. Orchard Park is another pawsome place for dogs. Your furry friend can sniff his way around the paved paths while getting his daily exercise. Keep in mind that no matter which Hillsboro park you visit, dogs are not allowed in the wetlands, ponds or streams.

Hillsboro also has a number of pet friendly restaurants, so go ahead and schedule a dinner date with your furry BFF. The rustic McMenamins Rock Creek Tavern features menu items made from local ingredients. The outside patio seating is pet friendly. For a hearty meal, head over to Copper River and order fried chicken, filet mignon, or beer infused bratwurst. Your furry pal can join you at one of the outdoor tables. Sounds like a woofin’ good time!

Sometimes dogs just need a place to let loose. If your pup is ready to run, head over to Hondo Dog Park in the Meek Road neighborhood. Let your four legged friend ditch the leash and bolt around the open space. She’ll love socializing with her fellow canines while enjoying some fresh air. There is a separate area for small dogs, as well as an area for pups of all shapes and sizes. Large trees provide shade during the hot months and there is also a doggy drinking fountain. While your pooch is having fun, take some laps around the walking path or just relax on one of the benches.
