Parks upon parks is what you’ll find in Albany’s City Center neighborhood, about seven miles from Tangent. Your pup will love a walk in the 26 acres at Bowman Park. This beautiful park has tons of mature trees and a nature trail for you and Fido to explore. There’s also a picnic pavilion with barbecue grills, Willamette River access, a boat ramp, and restrooms. Bowman Park also has access to the 1.5-mile Dave Clark Trail that meanders along the river, making it a woofderful, scenic spot for a walk. There are two other quiet, smaller neighborhood parks – Swanson Park and Burkhart Park – where you and your pup can enjoy some quality outdoor time together.

A puptacular walk awaits you and your dog in this Albany neighborhood, about seven miles from Tangent! Leash your pooch and start your adventure on the Periwinkle Creek Trail that begins at the neighborhood’s 10-acre Grand Prairie Park. This 1.8-mile paved multi-use trail meanders through residential areas and greenways as it follows its namesake creek. Along the way, the path runs through Periwinkle Park, a pawsome seven-acre park with great picnic spots under the mature trees and next to the creek. This neighborhood is also the home of Deerfield Park, a furrific place for you and your dog to relax in the great outdoors. Deerfield Park has a bike path, barbecue grills, athletic fields, a playground and seasonal restrooms.

Locals love this Albany neighborhood for its Draper Park, about seven miles from Tangent. This five-acre park has a serene feel as huge mature trees border it from the streets. The large open grassy area is pawpular for games of Frisbee or quiet relaxation. There is a paved path that runs through the park where you and your leashed dog will love walking. Draper Park also has a playground and picnic tables. Pineway Park is another puptastic park in this neighborhood. The two-acre greenspace has barbecue grills at some of the picnic tables, a basketball court and a playground.

Looking for a quiet stroll with your leashed dog? Visit the Marion St SE/ Queen Ave SE neighborhood in Albany, about seven miles from Tangent. There, you’ll find Sunrise Park nestled among this residential neighborhood. Sunrise Park has a huge open grassy area with walking paths around the perimeter. At three acres, this park has plenty of room for you and Fido to stretch your legs. The large lawn also makes for a pawsome place for playtime or to soak up some rays in warmer months. There’s a few mature trees around, too. The park also has woofderful picnic tables, a playground for kiddos and barbecue grills.

Off-leash fun is just a 10-mile drive from Tangent, on the east side of Albany in the Millersburg neighborhood. Located on the north end of Timber Linn Memorial Park, the Albany Dog Park has tons of fun things to sniff. This 2.3-acre fenced-in dog park has designated yards for large and small dogs. Though there’s lots of open space to run and roam free, there’s also lots of shade to make sure your pup stays cool. The Albany Dog Park has drinking water available for pooches and humans, plus doggie waste cleanup bags on site. After your dog has burned off some energy in the off-leash area, explore the rest of Timber Linn Memorial Park’s 100 acres. There’s tons to see, including a lake, open fields, picnic areas and restrooms.
