Downtown Friday Harbor
Sometimes, you just want to go out to dinner with your dog. Well, Mike's Cafe & Wine Bar allows you to do just that. They have set up their patio so that you can join your dog whenever you would like. From pizza to crab and everything in between, the fare will always allow you to find something that is delicious. It is only 8 miles from Shaw Island, and very much worth the trip. Don’t forget to bring a leash, as well as Fido’s water bowl.

San Juan Island
Jump on the ferry and head the 8 miles over to Eddie and Friends Dog Park. The land had been donated by a fur loving family just so that you and your dog have a safe, fenced in area to play off-leash for a while. There are gazebos set up along with benches so that you can supervise Fido while he plays. Your safety is the first concern and it shows with the double gated fence. The park is open all day long so that even the morning lovers have a great way to start the day. Come meet new friends!

Orcas Island
Orcas Island Dog Park is only about 10 miles away, and it’s the perfect spot to spend the day. With covered areas for the rainy days, you will want to come out here all the time. There is a great supply of balls and toys so that you and your dog can play together. This park is pawpular with the locals; the regulars often get together to visit while their pups play in the designated area. This park has lots of wide open area, which is fenced in so Fido can get off his leash and run as much as he wants!

The Lavender Fields
You have never smelled anything as amazing as fresh lavender growing in a field. The view is gorgeous, and you can get some barktastic pictures. If you’re looking for a little more than a photo op, head on over to Pelindaba Lavender Farm. The staff there will show you and your leashed dog around the nursery, give you a tour of the production areas, and even allow you to take some back home with you! Before you go back home, be sure to stop by the gift shop and get you a lavender dog bone or some lavender dog shampoo. This is one adventure that you aren’t going to be able to find anywhere else.

Ferry Landing
The open air docks at Friday’s Crabhouse are awaiting you and your dog. You can watch the ferries as they come and go, or take in the gorgeous view of the waterfront right from the seating areas. The classic seafood fare comes about as fresh as you could possibly get. But don’t worry; they have burgers and dawgs just in case you or your dog aren’t in the seafood kind of mood. The entire staff is friendly and will be happy to fetch Fido some drinking water. Come on in anytime and dine! You can reserve your seating, but it is not usually necessary.
