Bambi II Inspired Dog Names

The internet is a place for the unknown to become discovered and both Instagram and YouTube are the current rulers. It is here that we find another of our spotlight dogs, the adorable and delicate Bambi! Bambi is a Chihuahua who belongs to an Instagram hair master with the channel name of HolisticHabits. Sarah Nagel (the creator of this channel) is the owner of Bambi and they are perfectly fit for each other. Just like Bambi, Sarah is sweet, delicate, and gentle with big eyes and an even bigger heart. The little dog makes appearances in not only her YouTube videos, but also her Instagram photos, and people love him. With fawn colored fur, little paws, and big brown eyes, little Bambi actually resembles the Bambi from the film quite well! There is no doubt as to why his name may have been chosen and we are sure that his personality traits mimic that of the deer, Bambi, closely as well, being sweet, lovable, and loyal to a tee.

Another spotlight dog that we are focusing on today, is one that actually lives with a skunk ( granted a de-scented one) just like Bambi does! This dog, by the name of Thumper, is featured in the book The Dog in my Life: Thumper of Walden (1966). The story focuses on the tale of a young Yellow Lab who was born into a family of amateur dog breeders. Everyone considers him a bit ugly due to his large head and decide to bestow upon him the unfortunate name of Meathead. No one truly wants Meathead, except for the youngest daughter of the family, Cary. As she has always longed for a dog, Cary takes Meathead under her wing and blesses him with a new, and much cuter name, Thumper. The book then follows the adventures of these two, and told from the perspective of Cary, we watch from Thumper's birth as many events unfold; such as Thumper's beginnings in showmanship, hunting excursions, and even an unfortunate event where he was captured by dog thieves for a time. As time goes on, everyone warms up to Thumper and it is revealed that the family truly is loving and can't seem to say no to pets (having quite the assortment) and are struggling to have ends meet; which is the real reason why Thumper wasn't necessarily wanted at the beginning. This book is very sweet and does a great job of showing how much pets can add to our lives through the simplest of actions.
