The Seven Deadly Sins Inspired Dog Names

The first "Hugo" is a black and white French Bulldog who was featured with an "interview" in the Jerusalem Post during the year 2012. The entire online campaign was based around the slogan "don't behave like animals" in order to encourage participation in the polls. While it was officially Hugo that was interviewed, his owner, Avital Sahar, did all the translation work according to the Jerusalem Post. This adorable pooch may not have made history as a political candidate, but he absolutely did a wonderful job of making people smile and encouraging political participation during the running. 

Our next "Hugo" of Capitol Hill is an absolutely adorable 11 month old Bernese Mountain dog who was captured by photographer, Hannele Lahti while sitting in his element; aka a large leather chair inside the office of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee. While not many other details are given of the sweet pup, there is no doubt that his big smile, gorgeous fur, and loving personality are enough to cause many people to fall under his spell! 

Next, we get to meet a political pup from Oakville who also, surprise, goes by the name of "Hugo". The sweet Golden Retriever wasn't officially running for any office but his cute slogans (like "more green space and four more leash-free parks by 2016" and "he’s shaking paws and licking babies") made people smile and feel better despite the poor choices that were available at the time. People loved seeing Hugo as he walked around town, and some even went as far as to put signs saying "Vote for Hugo" and "Support the Underdog" in their lawns. This is a great example of how much happiness dogs can bring to people, even when they don't do it intentionally. 

While having an animal in office is never serious, it definitely does bring thoughts to mind of what it would be like if everyone in politics treated others as dogs do; with love and a positive attitude. Politics would be way better!
