Dog Names that End with 'ia' in Pop Culture
You may have heard of the Petunia flower and maybe even Petunia the pig, but have you ever heard of Petunia the dog? She is the star of her own little children's book, and although her story doesn't start out as nice as we would like, the ending is so heartwarming and wonderful that people of all ages can enjoy it. You can find Petunia in the book known as Petunia, the Unlikely Little Church Dog. From the name alone we can deduce that Petunia is somehow going to end up in a church, but this may happen in a way that not many would expect.
Petunia's life started out as any puppy's would, happily tucked up alongside her mommy and warmed by her brothers and sisters. After she had grown up enough, the little Petunia was adopted by a loving family who enjoyed playing with her and gave her all that she needed. One day, however, things changed, and the family had to move. Unfortunately, they couldn't take Petunia with them to their new home, so Petunia was left to a shelter to wait for a new family. As can be imagined, this made her very sad and she missed her old family very much.
When a new family came to adopt her, Petunia was excited but perhaps a little nervous. As any dog would be, thoughts of what the new family may be like most likely ran through her mind. However, hope prevails and like the normal dog, Petunia tried to love the new people in her life. This family was not meant to be and treated Petunia coldly, eventually becoming mean. Because of this, Petunia ran away. Not knowing where to go and what to do can be very scary for a puppy, and it was the same for Petunia. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending! Petunia stumbles upon a kind church that takes her in and provides her with lots of love and kindness. It is this touching ending that makes the story of Petunia and the Unlikely Church so wonderful. While Petunia's breed is not completely clear, it appears that she is some kind of terrier so there is no surprise that her determination and brave heart would carry her through such difficult times. If you own a terrier or a dog that reminds you a lot of Petunia, this name may be perfect to consider choosing for your pet!
