Jumanji Inspired Dog Names

Somewhere in the world (or more specifically, in Hubert, NC) there is a sweet and loveable Border Collie, Pointer mix. This dog's name is Jumanji! He is a medium sized dog that is completely house trained and extremely tolerant of children or other animals. So basically, Jumanji is the total opposite of the board game we see in the movie Jumanji. Such endearing qualities (and a not so similar connection to the evil board game) are a very good thing, considering this sweet pup is up for adoption. With the colors of a Border Collie and the body of a Pointer, Jumanji is a very handsome dog with a cream colored coat and patches of black markings. His ears are perfectly folded triangles that perk up a bit when he is listen and of course, flop wildly as he runs. If that description doesn't already steal your heart, Jumanji's gorgeous amber colored eyes and big heart certainly will.

Found at the age of about 5 months, Jumanji and his siblings were originally living out of a heavily wooded area on their own in the cold of December. It was very obvious to those who discovered the pups that they had been living on their own for quite some time and were absolutely terrified of people. As can be imagined, this made catching Jumanji a bit difficult but with a lot of perseverance, the rescue team fought through a growing storm to save as many puppies as they could. Unfortunately only Jumanji was rescued as the rest of his family bolted away and out of reach due to their fear. While it is rather sad to wonder what happened to the rest of the pups (and why they were all so terrified of people) it is encouraging to know that at least one made it to safety. Jumanji was afraid of people for quite some time after his rescue, and even now, he is a bit shy when it comes to meeting someone knew. Thanks to a lot of patience and TLC from his caregivers, however, Jumanji is no longer terrified of humans and warms up rather quickly to those he interacts with. His sweet spirit and intelligence shines through as soon as you get to know him.

Even though Jumanji is quite the opposite from what we know and love about the films, he is still a puppy and therefore, most likely carries a bit of chaos in his wake. It is so wonderful to know that eventually he will find someone to adopt him that will love him completely (and appreciate his unique name as well)! If you too have a pup that is a bit rambunctious and reminds you of the Jumanji book or movie, then you have definitely come to the right place to find a name.
