Introduction
Short Dog Names in Pop Culture
Bo and Sunny are great examples of this. Bo was gifted to the family by Senator Kennedy after the Obamas had narrowed their selections down to either the Portuguese Water Dog or a Labradoodle. These two specific breeds were considered specifically because Malia Obama had allergies and the family needed pets that would work with that. Bo was exactly what they needed and along with being able to go inside the Oval Office, Bo has even been called "First Dog" on a number of different occasions. A while later, it seemed that the family just couldn't get enough of the breed, so they decided to purchase Sunny, a sister for Bo. Although many of the Humane Societies wished that the Obama family had adopted a dog instead of purchasing one (as the family originally intended to do) there is no doubt that the President went the extra mile to still make a difference in some way. He made a charitable donation to the Humane Society in Sunny's name in order to further aid in their quest to help dogs everywhere.
Short Dog Name Considerations
Because of the common nature of short names and words, it won't be difficult to find one that either represents personality, origin, color, or even a representation of a favorite character through your pup. If you like the Legend of Zelda video games, then names like "Epona", "Link", or "Midna" would be excellent choices. Perhaps you like to travel to Hawaii or have lived there at one time; names like "Kona" or "Kana" could be perfect for you.
