Grab the doggie waste bags and your dog’s favorite toy, and then head on over to Wickham Dog Park on Parkway Drive. Please have your dog leashed while entering and exiting the park, but feel free to let them run leash-free while they’re there. Wickham Dog Park has a separate area for small breeds and puppies, so there’s no need to worry about your pup being intimidated by a dog of a larger breed.

Your child wants to swing, but your dog wants to go for a walk…now what? Simple! You pack up the gang and go to Pineapple Park on Pineapple Avenue. This park is dog-friendly (as long as they’re on their leashes) and even offers waste bags so owners can easily do their part to keep Pineapple Park beautiful. Pineapple Park also has a swing set, bathrooms, picnic areas, and a gazebo.

If you’re on the lookout for a beautiful, pet-friendly hotel, check out the Crane Creek Inn on East Melbourne Avenue. Only certain rooms are pet-friendly, so be sure to double-check that your desired room allows pets before you book it. The staff is very kind and accommodating to even the most skittish of pets (sometimes, they even make extra bacon in the morning especially for your pup!). As if being pet-friendly and offering breakfast wasn’t enough, Crane Creek Inn also has a big movie library too!

If you find yourself in northern Melbourne, you might be in the Eau Gallie community, located just off the Indian River. While in Eau Gallie, head over to Chef Mario’s Café, which features classic Italian dishes. Your dog is always invited to join you on the outdoor patio; just make sure he has a leash. Once you’re done eating, head over to Furry Paws, a local dog spa and daycare that also has homemade dog treats and cakes. Between dining with you and a special treat, there’s no way that your best fur-iend won’t feel like he’s the top dog!

This park has separate areas for small and large dogs, and each area has plenty of room for your dog to run around in. If you work up a sweat playing, it’s no problem; there are water fountains for both you and your dog and plenty of shady spots to sit. This section of the beach, specifically made for dogs, is an on-leash park. Have some fun playing in the water with your pup, and when you’re done, head over to one of the picnic tables to enjoy a meal; there’s even a grill if you’d like to cook your food there. Located just three miles east of Melbourne is Indialantic, Florida. Before heading to the beach, head over to Around the World Café, which offers a wide selection of both sweet and savory foods from all over the globe. The café has dog-friendly seating on the sidewalk, but keep in mind that seating is limited. Pico Alto PHC Restaurant is another Fido-friendly option; this local favorite serves authentic Peruvian food. Leashes are required at both restaurants, and it’s recommended you call ahead to check on seating availability. After eating, you’ll both be ready to head to the beach – no hour-long wait necessary!
