The West Pickard Street and North Henry Street neighborhood is on the north side of the city, known for the winding rapids of the Chippewa River and rows of residential homes. Along the shore of the river is Nelson Park, a 5-acre park with a boat launch, rolling hills, forested trails, a fishing deck, and trails for hiking. There's room to walk, play, and run around with Fido and includes access to water fountains, benches, picnic tables, and restrooms. Another place to bring Fido is Pickens Fields, a recreational park with fenced-in baseball and softball fields. A paved trail connects the fields and amenities like a playground, restrooms, a pavilion, water fountains, and benches.

Bradley Street

The neighborhood of Bradley Street is a residential community with rows of homes along the Chippewa River. Also along the river is Mill Pond Park, a 90-acre park that has open space, thick forests, and river access. There are nearly 5 miles of walking trails made from concrete and dirt that wind through the park and connect to bridges and rural beaches along the river.  You and Fido will have plenty of room to explore the area's natural forests, but can also enjoy some time in the open field that has a playground, picnic tables, and grilling stations, benches, and trash bins. Leash up Fido and enjoy the park anytime since it's open 24 hours.

Swan

Swan is a large neighborhood, filled with rural woods and residential homes on the south side of the city. The most well-known park of the community is the Chipp-A-Waters Park, which is cut in half by the Chippewa River. On both sides of the river is a combined 100-acre area with natural woods with trails. You and Fido can enjoy a day's worth of walking along 4.2 miles of trails inside the park or relax in the open areas, where there are shaded sitting areas, a picnic pavilion, and a playground. Dogs have to remain on a leash inside the park and will need to remember to bring clean-up bags and water for them.

Central Mount Pleasant

Central Mount Pleasant is the largest neighborhood in the city, half filled with dense woods and the other half packed with homes and a shopping center. On the north side of the neighborhood is Indian Pines Park, a rural but natural park that offers park-goers a scenic place to hike and enjoy the scenery of the woods and river. Fido can come along and does not need to be on a leash, although you'll need to bring them water and clean-up bags. Further down in the neighborhood is the Jameson Park, a smaller but more developed park, with a fenced-in field that is dog-friendly. Additionally, there's also open space, benches, and picnic tables.

Southeast Mount Pleasant is a fulled developed neighborhood with open fields and bustling rows of residential homes. Inside the neighborhood is Horizon Park, a sports park with multiple recreational fields, open space, and a place to play and run around. Besides open space, the park has a fenced-in baseball field, 4 soccer fields, tennis courts, and a track. Dogs can run around in the fenced-in field or the open space and enjoy other features like a playground, a pavilion, restrooms, water fountains, benches, and picnic tables. The park is open 24 hours a day and requires dogs to remain on a leash.
