Dog Areas in Stamping Ground

The city of Stamping Ground is located in northern Kentucky. This tiny city only has 566 residents, and is surprisingly a home-rule city. This means the city makes its own laws to govern its citizens, as long as those laws do not disagree with federal laws or the United States Constitution.

The governing system is not the only interesting thing about Stamping Ground. Although this city does not have many parks of its own, it is located in a very green part of Kentucky. If you have a car, you can drive to a multitude of parks nearby. But don't worry -- just because there aren't many parks within the borders of the city does not mean there aren't plenty of beautiful neighborhoods within Stamping Ground where you can take your pooch for a walk! Just make sure you take a leash with you.

In addition to the greenery in the general vicinity, there are also many muttropolitan cities located nearby. The city is right on the border of Ohio and Kentucky, so you aren't even confined to just one state. You can spend a day in Cincinnati, or head to Lexington for some delicious comfort food.

Nearly twenty minutes away from Stamping Ground, you will find City Center, located in the middle of Frankfort, Kentucky. This neighborhood is home to Leslie Morris Park at Fort Hill. This park is unlike any other you will ever visit. It has two Civil War period forts, a museum, and many historical activities. Your pooch will need to be leashed at all times while in the park. Also, take your own poop bags and water. Consider making your trip a family affair so your pooch can get some fresh air while your family learns a little bit about Civil War history.

Although there are no dog parks in Stamping Ground, there is a dog park only fifteen minutes away, in the neighborhood of Burton Pike in Georgetown. The Scott County Dog Park is a bare bones dog park which is completely fenced in so your pooch can run wild and free. There is only one section in the park -- no separate areas for big and small dogs. The park doesn't have any toys or agility equipment, so be sure to take your own. However, since it is the only dog park in the area, you and your pup are likely to see some regulars and even make a friend or two!
