Belmont Shore
It’s time to catch some waves, dig some holes, and catch some frisbees. Grab some snacks and a beach towels and head over to Rosie's Dog Beach right here in Long Beach. This is an off-leash dog beach. Your furry friend can run and play as long as he wants within the designated areas. Please remember to clean up after your pup to keep the beach looking pristine. This is the only dog beach to be found in the entire county so you may find your pal giving you the puppy dog eyes so he can come back and play.52

Eastside
While you are in Long Beach, don’t forget to take your pal to Recreation Park Dog Park just outside Eastside. There are arches to run around and through. Trees are aplenty in this park, which means you can rest under the shade while your furry friend plays. There are two separated areas, one for little dogs and one for bigger or more adventurous ones. This is great place to relax and cool off, with both water fountains and waste stations set up for you. You and your canine companion are sure to have a relaxing day full of fun.48

Seal Beach
There is a hidden gem that lies just 7 miles from Long Beach in Seal Beach. Gum Grove Park has hidden its two entrances just perfectly for you to go explore. The second entrance is right off Seal Beach and leads you up the mountains through the trails. The main entrance on Avalon lets you choose whether you want to go through the trails or play in the open area. There are two distinct trails that allow you to hike and enjoy nature. Your pup will need his leash for most of the area, but there are a couple sections of the trails that are off-leash.

San Pedro
Just over seven miles from Long Beach, San Pedro offers Knoll Hill Off-Leash Dog Park. Just as the name suggests, this is an off-leash park that has plenty of room for you to throw a frisbee, play fetch, or just run and stretch. The two separate areas allows for the smaller dogs to be separated from the larger ones. There is a second dog run right off the large dog area to allow your dog to grow accustomed to all the smells before releasing them. There are plenty of chairs and benches for the owners to watch their dogs play and make some new fur-ends.

The Arts Districts
Twenty-three miles north of Long Beach is the Arts District Dog Park. This is a small off-leash dog park that is the perfect rest stop for both humans and dogs. The granite top area is perfect for playing catch. There are two separate areas for dogs of all sizes to mingle that has natural grass. The shady spots are the perfect spot to take a rest. There are water stations and cleaning stations for your convenience, so don't be a litterbug and make use of them. While you are visiting, don’t forget to check the bulletin board for upcoming events or community announcements.
